I have an iPAQ3870 with a dual PC card expansion module. Are there any
cards, other than the Compaq cards, that are known to work in this
configuration???

I have used a Cisco Aironet 342 card in my Ipaq 3835 with PCMCIA jacket.

Basically any pcmcia card with the correct drivers will work.
There are plenty of these out there, go and look...
