I currently have a PPGA celeron 500 running on an old Abit LX6. I am
thinking of buying the SA6R and using it to run my 500 until I can buy a 933
or 1ghz. My question is does the SA6R support PPGA CPU's? There is no
mention of that support anywhere on the Abit site in either the US or Taiwan
but when I downloaded the manual for the SA6R there is a mention of
installing a PPGA CPU in the manual. I'm confused!!

Any help would be greatly appreciated. You can email me at

Yes, the PPGA will work. I know of no boards that will work with the FCPGA but not the PPGA. Newer motherboards are usually designed to accept the earliest processor for that socket. Older boards were sometimes designed with no knowlege of future processor specification. So if a newer processor will work, so will the older, but not always vice versa.
