Via has started "volume shipments" of the KT266 chipset including DDR266 SDRAM support, a 266MHz FSB, V-Link Hub Architecture, and ATA-100 support.

This is a startling turn of events. I would have expected to hear about review samples (motherboards) before the announcement of volume shipments.

Anyway, looking forward, anxiously, for a review. I hope Via gets it right this time.

Mehopes this really happens. After Tom's review, I'm very wary of the Ali-Magik1 and I NEED a new computer SOON ;)

I wasn't too suprised there weren't any samples, considering Tom mentioned he didn't even know when Via was going to release this chipset. http://www4.tomshardware.com/mainboard/01q1/010104/amd-133fsb-09.html But a lot of mb makers have promised boards with this chipset. Guess all we can do is cross our fingers for now.
