you don't update you upgrade. You need to purchase a new card with the specs you need.

Shader Model 2 is something that's been supported for at least 8 years, so it shouldn't be too hard to find a decent card with at least Shader Model 3. Be sure to check your graphics card's interface first so that, for example, you don't buy a PCI-E card when your motherboard only takes AGP.

I've checked the requirements for this game and it's referring to a GeForce FX 5900/ATi Radeon 9500 or higher with at least 128MB RAM. Let that be your baseline.
