Not All System Memory Recognized by XP

I have a strange problem, when booting my SuperMicro X5DAL-TG2, it recognizes 1024 MB of system memory, but in XP SP2, the system is recognizing only 896 MB.

The board is running 2 x 512 mb DDR266 ECC and the Phoenix BIOS is 1.3a, which according to SuperMicro is the latest version. I can't find anything in the BIOS to "release" the additional 128 mb.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

  1. Man that is a really weird problem. You might want to reinstall your OS. Maybe check that RAM?
  2. That 128 megs might be used for the onboard graphic if you have on board video...
