Not All System Memory Recognized by XP
Jan 29, 2005, 7:14 PM
I have a strange problem, when booting my SuperMicro X5DAL-TG2, it recognizes 1024 MB of system memory, but in XP SP2, the system is recognizing only 896 MB.
The board is running 2 x 512 mb DDR266 ECC and the Phoenix BIOS is 1.3a, which according to SuperMicro is the latest version. I can't find anything in the BIOS to "release" the additional 128 mb.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Man that is a really weird problem. You might want to reinstall your OS. Maybe check that RAM?

That 128 megs might be used for the onboard graphic if you have on board video...
-Always put the blame on you first, then on the hardware !!!
