Windows Media Center on Banned Xbox 360?

Title says it all. I've had a banned Xbox around and I want to use the Media Extender for my HDTV downstairs. I also have heard of TVersity and that might be a second choice.

If anything can I put videos on a flash drive and watch it that way? I know for a fact that .wmv works. But mostly everything I have are .mkv avi. or .mpg ... which dont work

I think you can use a usb flash/hard drive to place the divx codecs onto once the drive has been formatted to xbox360 format, you might fine more info here: www.xbox360-hacks.com.
