Finally I have enough money to upgrade my Motherboard from Asus P3B (BX chip set) to Asus CUSL2-C (815EP chip set). My question is, if I keep all other hardware same (i.e. display card, sound card, etc), can I just use my old harddisk to boot it up, or I need to reinstall Win98 and all other programs ? Please advise.

You can boot using your old hard disk a complete re-install is unnecessary! Windows will reconise that there is new hardware in the system, and prompt you for any drivers that should presumably come with your new board.

Just a tip, if you get any bullshit on the screen when you reboot it will be a display adapter problem. boot windows in safe mode to correct your settings if this happens.

Let me know how you get on.

I love my Asus P3B-F. Wouldn't trade it for the world. You might be better off upgrading other components if you want to see a big speed increase (ram, video card...).

I've done a couple upgrades like that. Windows detects new hardware install new drivers and off ya go. Easy as pie.
