The reviews on newegg are all mixed and contradictory. It seems like half the reviewers don't know what they are doing and the other half have probably never heard good audio in their life. There is not one card that a reviewer doesn't mention something about the sound being horrible or the mic bleeding into vent or the software crashing the computer etc.

If you sort by lowest price the first card that has all 5 eggs costs costs $170.

I don't know much about audio. I want the card for gaming and improved sound quality when listening to music on a 2.1 system. Also, the card should in no way slow my computer down or bleed the mic or mess anything up. Improvement over onboard audio should be apparent to someone that can appreciate quality sound but is not an extreme audiophile.
