drivers for VIA chipset

If I update my VIA chipset with the most current VIA drivers from VIA will this resolve all the problems I hear about from this fourm.

The sounds from my system is scratchy with some high intensity graphic games. I heard that these crackling sounds may be caused by these chipsets and not the soundcard.

BTW: I have an ABIT KA7-100 MB.

VIA blames Creative Labs and Creative Labs blames VIA. Neither side will investigate the matter because they think it is the other's fault.
Its probably a combination of both.

also you might want to try and place your soundcard in a different slot phyically. I had a IRQ conflict with the SB Live in the slot and it cracked...
