I used to have and old compaq presario. I know for a fact that if I fdisked the drive. I would not be able to get back in the bios. For some reason, I don't know if compaq still does it, they would install a setup program in a non-dos partition. If you delete that partition, you have to go to compaq's site download and install a sofpaq that reinstalls that partition so you can access and edit your bios again. Good luck
This is true! When I refurbish tehm, I set the BIOS up, then repartitions the drive. Why? Because they run so much faster with 1 standard 32-bit partition. Lord help my customers if they ever want to get back into BIOS!
