KT7-Raid bios upgrade problems

I have an Abit KT7-Raid motherboad. In an effort to reduce some instability problems, I flashed the BIOS with the new KT7_WW upgrade. Now, the computer does not boot. When I turn on the power, the motherboard lets out one long beep, then turns off. I am not able to boot from the floppy drive, so I'm unable to re-install the old BIOS.

Any help in this matter is appreciated, even some insight on returning the motherboard to its out-of-the-box condition.

  1. Just an update.

This new BIOS has a check to insure that the CPU fan is present and functioning. If you upgrade to this BIOS, ensure that your CPU fan is connected to the FAN#1 power connector. No need to respond further, my problem has been fixed.

  2. I'm glad I saw your post. I was just about to obtain the BIOS update.

My fan is not attached to the mobo header and I believe it draws too much power to do so.

    That was a close call!
