amd motherboard issues

Hey Everyone.

I was just wondering if anybody actually knew of the issues that are pertaining to Athlon motherboards with regards to running AGP slots at 4x. There have been numerous articles stating that running the slot at 4x causes the systems to lock up and the only way to fix it is to drop it to 2x. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

AMD has a patch to fix that. You can get it on their site.

I think this was with slot A mobos. The new socket A mobos don't have a problem. Or at least mine and my friend's boards don't.

Are you refering to the irongate chipsets?

My KT7 Raid and a7v are both running at 4x on the agp. No Problems, no patches required.

Just make sure bios is up to date.
