I am about to buy KT7A-Raid, 1.2GHz Tbird
Do I need to update the bios for the motherboard? Or should it be ok? Also if I do, where should I go to get the update? Should I get it from Abit or VIA? If you know, what version should I be running? Anything else I need to know to make sure I don't have any problems (I heard about some of those slowdown problems, stability, etc... w/people who werent using latest bios and stuff).
Thanks!

PS Am I making a mistake by not waiting for DDR ram or DDR MBs?

It is my personal belief that you should run the most current BIOS. You will always bet the BIOS upgrades from the board manufactuer in this case ABIT.

BIOS upgrades are intended for the most part to correct problems and are usually stated on the sites as to what the new version will correct since the last.

I have seen new BIOS upgrades cause problems but only once or twice in my 7 years working with computers.

Good luck!

Take Care.
