Hi there. I would like to know is it possible to run a server behind a router.

In this case it would be a cs 1.6 server.

I have a local ip that is 10.0.0.2 and internet ip that is 77.100.133.XX

But since I share my internet with parents nobody will be able to connect to the server using the public ip: 77.100.133.XX

so is it possible to make it work even when i share connection with parents. So not only people from my lan can connect but from the internet too.

Thanks.

The only way to access the server (from the internet) is for people to use your public IP. In this case, 77.100.133.xx. You need port forwarding turned on in your router to redirect the necessary ports over to your server.

Also, be aware that your ISP probably assigns your IP address via DHCP, so that 77.100.133.xx can change anytime you reboot your cable/dsl modem.

When I start the server (CS 1.6) it binds it to local ip : 10.0.0.2. Guess I need to change that too somehow.

Unless you are paying for a static IP, it is being assigned by DHCP. They just have the lease time turned up. If you lost power to the modem for a long enough period of time, it will most likely get a new address.
