Hi,
I've been getting intermittent "50 SERVICE" errors on my HP Laserjet
Series II. The fact that they don't happen all the time, and they
tend to go away if I switch the printer off for a while, suggested to
me that it could be the ac power board.

I decided to test the resistance of the fuser lamp anyway - as
suggested by pages on the web - and I found the resistance across the
lamp to be 8.3 ohms. On the web pages I read it says it should read
around 2 ohms, or another says less than 5 ohms.

What I'd like to know is, is 8.7 ohms a big enough deviation from the
norm, to suspect that the lamp may be the culprit rather than the
board?

Any help would be appreciated. :D

Thanks,
Jordan

P.S. I'm on 240V power if that makes a difference
