Dlink DMP100

I have the D-Link DMp-100 32MB MP3 player. For some strange reason the first time I hooked up the player to my
Abit KA-100/Athlon 800 Classic System the player could communicate with the computer. Now the computer can't even communicate with the player. Yes, I already set to the appropriate parallel port setting in my BIOS. D-Link tech support couldn't help because all I get is a voice mail and no return calls.

However, the same player communicate fine attached to a Abit/PII system so I know it's not the player so maybe it's the motherboard or the CPU of my Athlon. Any suggestions?

Hi,

Sounds like BIOS or Windows settings to me, I'd check the values used vs the PIII system which works. Also try and find some other parallel port device (direct cable connection cable, printer?) to help verify the port's operation.
