I7-950 vs i7-2600k in SC2

When i went to order computer parts, I saw that the i7-2600k got recalled. If i could choose one I'd pay extra and take the i7-2600k but I don't really want to wait a few months for it to get back on the market. So I was wondering, if I went with the i7-950, how many less fps would I get compared to the i7-2600k?

Comp Specs:
CPU: i7-950/i7-2600k
GPU: gtx 570
Mobo:D epends on cpu
Ram: 6gb
HDD: 1TB
PSU: Corsair 750w
Windows 7 64 Bit
Also, how long until you think the i7-2600k will be back for sale?

AFAIK, it was the sata3 motherboards for Sandybridge that were recalled not the Sandybridge CPU's. But I think that no one is sell Sandybridge anyway. If you can wait the 1.5-2 months for them to come back, I think I would.

Not one that hasn't been recalled. If I were you I would wait, but in answer to your question there will probably not be any noticable difference if FPS in SC2 between the 2, either will probably be over the 60hz that your monitor likely displays.

Could I use only SATA 6Gb/s ports to avoid the 1155 mobo problems as it got recalled for its degrading SATA 3Gb/s ports?

Sure, if you can find one. They have all been pulled off the shelves.

Hold fire for the fixed motherboards to come back on the market. Sandy Bridge kicks so much ass it's making the already fantastic i7 950 look mediocre.

Yep, I told my brother the same thing, as he also wants to build a new system. His new rig is going to slap my i5 750 around. Guess he is getting back @ me for those years of picking on him when we were younger.
