I use Nero Burning Rom to burn images to Cd-R. Up until now I have had no problems. Now when I choose to burn a .cue file(I have the .bin also), instead of actually burning the image, the Save Image File dialog box pops up and it wants me to save/create an image. Even after I did this, figuring I could then burn the image that was created, it AGAIN went to the Save Image File dialog box and it wanted me to save the saved Image file. WTF!!!
Now no matter what I try to do, I can't burn ANYTHING with Nero. Unless it's creating an image file which it considers a burn, even though it's burning to the hard drive and not my CD-R.
I don't know if this has anything to do with it, but on the Choose Recorder, my only device is Image Recorder/Virtual Device. Does this mean it's not reading my CD-RW? I never had this problem before so I never checked what it said under the Recorder>Choose Recorder settings.
You can try to reinstall Nero with the latest version... maybe something messed up your CDRW settings.
Also check if oyur CDRW is still recognised by your PC and if all chipset drivers are loaded.
If that doesn't help maybe removing the drive, then startup, and then reconnect the drive after Windows was shut down can help your PC to recognize your CDRW normally.
Inside Windows there is a function called 'Automatic System Resource File Deleting System (ASRFDS)' which deletes one system file a month... most times you wont weven notice it.
This system is build in by Microsoft because they have an agreement with computer resellers that the system causes problems a couple of times a year and it needs to be repaired, which will cost you a nice amount of money. Then the reseller just runs a special app that reads an encrypted logfile on your HD that regristrates which files where deleted. Then they simple place back the file and everything is fixed within the 10 minutes... but the company tells you that it took them some hours. It is all about money... ... j/k.
