I am having a lot of trouble with my A7V. First it takes a really long time to boot until it hits the Win 98 logo, then it again takes its time loading the rest of Windows. Is this normal or am just the exception?
When the system has been sitting for a while, the system goes in to stanby and the signal to the keybard and mouse are cut off. I can not reactivate the system unless I reboot. When I reboot it takes me 6 or 7 times for the system to come up with out blue screening. The error message say's something close to "The program you have removed still has open Files".
My Configuration is...
128MB and 256MB Microm memory
AMD 750
SGI NV10GL Quadro w/ 64MB DDR or SGI Geforce NV10 w/ 32MB DDR (I tried both with the same results)
IBM ATA100 15gig
Sound Blaster Live
10/100 NIC

Try this first.
Bios 1005c or d
Via’s 4 in 1 drivers (they just released a new one)
And the newest Promise ATA drivers

U can find links to all of em form Asus’s website (I’m too lazy today)

Then check your bios setting. My A7V has never booted faster with the new ata driver making the biggest difference.

Good luck & Cya

The slow boot time can be fixed by switching to the ATA100 promise drivers (build 33).
I had the same problem with the other builds but this one fixed it for me.

-Gimme oysters and beer for dinner everyday of the year and I'll feel fine.
