I want to get an IBM Desktar 75 XGP HD (ATA/100), but just noticed that my BH6 is ATA/33 compliant. I know that an ATA/100 HD can be used with an ATA/66 compliant MB, but those the same hold true for an ATA/33 MB or do I have to buy some sort of adapter or worst yet a new MB. If I would need to buy a new MB, which socket A do you prefer. Much rather steer clear from buying a new MB and just keep upgrading this one. After the HD, if I don't change the MB, I will get a Petium 3.

Yes, you can use the ATA100 drive on an ATA33 controller. Since most drives transfer at that speed anyway, except in bust, you won't loose that much in performance.

Thanks for the reply. I am sure you meant ATA/33 not ATA/133.

I just bought an Abit ATA-100 Raid (0/1/0+1) card based on the HighPoint 370 chip for CDN$50 to use on a BX board. If you want to take advantage of the fast drive interface look around for one. Mine has been trouble-free.
