Right now I have a 5770 with a amd phenom II 965 and my motherboards is a asrock 790gx. I want a video card that can play new games that are coming out soon (crysis 2, BF3, etc..). I dont really care if it can run at max settings, but I want to run it at at least on medium. (1920X1080). What do you recommend? doing crossfire X with another 5770 is also an option. Maybe even the new 6xxx cards that are out...

I would likely crossfire with another 5770. I have seen them on newegg for 100.

I have a 4870 and it works good and was thinking about geting a 5770 to crossfire, but my card can't crossfire with the 5770. At the time I got the card it looked like I could crossfire with a 5xxx. ( Look up the crossfire chart on ati.)

Well your spoiled for choice with gpus but id go with a single faster card rather than the xfire config but it depends on your budget. If you can get a 5770 at a bargin price which im sure you can go for it.

What budget? I'd rather avoid the driver reliance of CF and stick with a single card.

Medium settings? Crysis 2 will still work fine on medium settings with a 5770. For battlefield 3 however, I would reccomend a Radeon 5870/Nvidia 570 while favoring the newer 570.

Yeah, CF would be the cheap upgrade for ~$100 on newegg.com. But if you want medium settings, I bet your single 5770 will be just fine. Especially if your rez is less than 1920x1080

alright, I'm thinking that I will stick to the 5770. But I am definatly going to get BF3 and I will run it at 1920x1080. I THINK that it will run fine for BF3, but I can't really tell. This is probably the only thing that is bottle necking my system. Will it still run BF3 at medium settings?

PS: this is just preparence for the future. I will probably wait until I get the game and tested it out before making any changes.

N/A
Until the game is released, or at least the beta is released we won't know. I'm sure medium settings will work fine, but that's comparing the game to Bad Company 2 where medium settings gave a 50+ framerate for me personally.

Just remember that BF3 is going to consoles too. Like every game that goes to consoles, a 5770 will be pretty good to get decent fps. The good thing about BF3 is that PC is supposedly the "lead platform", so my guess is that they will enable higher settings for the PC. But you will probably be fine @ medium settings with your 5770.
