with such a constrained eco-system surely all scores will fall into buckets, apart from the hakintoshes.

I'm actually going to run the benches this evening or tomorrow AM...curious to see how my oldest MBP compares to my newer MBP and how that compares to my Mac Pro. ...just for the fun of it. If we could get some hackintosh scores too that's be really neat.

Mem, looks like your cpu is bottlenecking your video card considering my stock HD5850 scored over 504 in the graphics test.

Don't know what model you have but 3ghz should be VERY simple. I had the E6300 1.86ghz and I ran it at 3.45ghz.

It looks like NovaBench for OSX can't doesn't bench SSDs...it didn't pick up the Vertex 2 RAID-0 in my Mac Pro or the Vertex 3 in my 15" MBP

How can a HD5870 possibly score 1158 when my HD5850 scores 504....? Somethings not right with that.

How can 2 GTX470 score only 624.....?

I think the benchmark is skewed, or screwed whichever you prefer.

I personally think that the paid benchmarks are more accurate such as PC Mark or 3d Mark. Even adia is better at benchmarking.

Its a Q6600. I know its bottlenecking it especially in games that require a lot of cpu horse power and more on games that support only 1 or 2 cores. But, I play games on 1920x1080 and I think most of you know that on these resolutions cpu is not something that matters a lot. p.e. : In Dragon Age 2 I have the same frames like core i7 920 that was running with gtx570 for a site source: http://www.techspot.com/review/374-dragon-age-2-perform... .

This GPU benchmark has nothing to do with games. it runs like on 800x600 (judgin from the window that poped up for the test) that noone uses. But at these resolutions cpu matters a lot. thats probably why 2x gtx470 have such a low score. Gpu benchies that nowadays dont use the most popular resolution (1920x1080) are fail imo.

I think the Windows scores aren't balanced when compared to the OS X scores, especially graphics. That's got to be the discrepancy. Jit's 560Ti did more 3D FPS than my 5870 but got a lower score.

That program IMHO is not much of a benchmark, and you all right, the scores make no sense, they are all over the place with no rhyme or reason.

Whats the pint of having a number? The score makes no sense, real human usage is the right benchmark.

Okay, come now...you're making sense and we don't tolerate that too well. High numbers help deliver bragging rights and that's one of the main reasons why we enthusiasts have computers. ...just keep'n it real.

We all know 3dmark11 and 3dmark Vantage are much more realistic benchmarks.

I thought this was pretty good for a i7-2600K with a sabretooth z77 and a radeon hd6870. Had this one clocked at 5.0 ghz. Yeah I was doing some benchmarks since I finally got my clck speed up to 5.0ghz. Dont worry I wont heckle anyone for thier scores. I think for a free little test this one is pretty consistant
