Games laggy on new build

Hey all;

I've been running this new build for about a week and noticed that all my games are very laggy and slight pauses through-out the game.

AMD Phenom II X6 1090T Black Edition Thuban 3.2GHz
ASUS M4A89TD PRO/USB3 AM3 AMD 890FX
ASUS Radeon HD 6950 2GB
CORSAIR CWCH50-1 High Performance CPU Cooler
CORSAIR HX Series CMPSU-750HX 750W
CORSAIR DOMINATOR 4GB DDR3 1600
LITE-ON Black 24X DVD+R 8X DVD+RW 12X DVD+R x2
Western Digital Caviar Black WD1002FAEX 1TB 7200 RPM 64MB
NZXT Phantom Black Steel
Windows 7 64 Ultimate

So far games like; Mass Effect2; NFS Hot Pursuit 2010, Split Second, Fallout: New Vegas, and City of Heroes have a tendency to lag for a split second then resumes gamming. In Windows 7, I have no issues when playing 1080p movies or watching online clips, the lag only happens when playing high end games.

While gamming at max settings in Hot Pursuit, my CPU temps are steady under 40C and the Radeon card stays a little under 56C when fan is set to 40% and 51C when fan kicks to 50% Motherboard temps are stable at 35C. I even installed PC doctor from ASUS and ran all component test and stress test for all devices and everything passed. The only thing I can think of now is the ATI grahpics.

Can anyone assist me with resolving this issues please?

System temps and activity while running City of Heroes at Max settings. Looking at this..I am wondering if I may need to go head and purchase another 4 Gigs of RAM?

what about your other drivers (mobo, etc...)?

I'd uninstall the drivers. Then reinstall doing the advanced option and leave out the audio driver. I'd also look in the control panel and see what might be causing problems. (settings )

I adjusted some settings in Catayst Control Center, so far Need for Speed is not lagging anymore. CoH is still a little laggy, but that could be the LAN drivers. Goning to try my other games (starting with Mass Effect2) before I uninstall all the drivers.

Also it could be the Asus chipset drivers which I installed from the disk that came with mobo instead of downloading the current drivers online.
