Thinking of using my pc for games

I'm thinking about using my pc for games but curious what I should upgrade? my current specs are:
AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+
4GB RAM
250GB hardrive
XFX 9800GT

your in luck to have an AMD ... depending on your mother board you maybe able to put in a much nicer , cheap processors .... i think your ram is fine , your hardrive space is sufficent ... heck your graphics card might even be barely Ok . what is your mother board ?

that motherboard is socket 939, u arent gonna be able to upgrade to something worthwhile, u might want to upgrade to the latest intel sandy bridge plateform

2500K 215$ mobo=around 130$ and 4 gigs of ddr3=around 65$

for under 400$ u can get urself a more powerful pc, and btw id upgrade the videocard to a 5770 which u can get for under 130$ on newegg
