Ok, so if I'm going to upgrade in the near future it seems that the tides are turning to support DDR memory on 133fsb motherboards. Is this the way to go? I'd be getting an AMD T-bird, and my favorite up till recently was the A7V. Should I be looking at the A7M now?

No, I'd recommend waiting for the mobo's with the KT266 chipset it is based on the very successful KT133, and it would probably be better than any motherboard right now using the AMD 760 chipset. I think Asus is coming out with something like the A7V based on KT266 and this motherboard would be the way to go most likely.
