This is how I feel, spiritual, love, it doesn't need to go further. I could tell me friends I love them, what's it to them, those closed bastards! (no offense to zpyrd!)
It seems like the majority Quebecers are THAT much closed, far more than other cultures.
Ya know, an example:
Last year I went to Lebanon in summertime. I missed by best friend, hadn't seen him in 4 years. How he has grown. Ya know, I didn't feel anything that was intimate, rather I felt his soul, I felt the friendship love. Despite how we don't share THIS much common tastes anymore, on that night when we were together at his house and he was playing and showing me a game on his comp, I just felt happy. On that moment in time, two friends reunited, just enjoy it. I felt like our spirits were connected, no matter what we don't share anymore, I just enjoyed it, he is my friend, and always will be ,simply because I love him a lot.

You're right pike, it IS NOT WRONG to think this, it is healthy in fact. I think everyone feels in it their unconscious, but as we know, the unconscious is as locked as the soul is to the spirit world. Or as locked as not knowing you belong in another world like in The Matrix.

I know some are closed, but we KNOW they are even though inside they simply hide it, while others, like my friends, simply express DIGUST and let out "GAY" simply because they are insecure and were not taught simply friend love. It's a shame I can't show them that!

Human relations are the most difficult things to understand, so much is involved and so much is misunderstood.

Yes, I understand, zp, your situation. It may be your family situation from youth, it may be a hereditary component, or both, and anyway it's ok, cause it is you!

However, do tell yourself that we are not rocks and that we are dynamic beings that are apt to changes. All my life I was an intraverted person, living my emotions inside myself and having a cold exterior to the world. Today, I'm happy when I can show my feelings to someone and not live them only on the inside. So, anyone can change part of their personality during their lifetime, and of course it always is for the better.

I would put forth that ALL love is the same, the same origin and has the same effect on our body and soul. However, one single type of love may be different and that is the romantic love for the opposite sex and only in the situation when we let this occur or can no longer control it.

All love emmanates from the heart area, physically, and we feel our self unimportant compared to the object of our affection at that moment in time. We temporarely loose our identity for the identity of the loved one. It's a feeling of liberation that is unequaled. A form of extasy. And , yes, all living creatures can be loved in this way!

Perhaps we could try and be just more tolerant with our comrades. You know , in time, they will all come around to the same realisation that we are all "connected" and that we are all drops of water striving to return to the ocean of cosmic consciousness. Of course some will get there before the others...)

I quite like that. I agree completely. I think that people in America, for the most part, are taught that their individuality comes first, and that community comes second. This shift in focus has led us to believe that we are separate from each other...and has also made us uncomfortable with showing love to one another...especially between men. It's seen as being weak, or "gay" or whatever. It's sad. The only time I've been around men who truly express themselves and openly appreciate one another is in a group of recovering addicts!

It's sad that Eden has to suffer ridicule for expressing compassion and love towards his friends. Maybe it's youth...I don't know. But even in here...you, Danny, still feel the need to defend yourself when you express love for the other guys here.

Strange, isn't it? We're so uncomfortable accepting that which we all crave so badly...the love and acceptance of our fellow man.
