Majority of Internet-capable phones accesses mobile Internet

Mobile Internet applications lacked appeal to many cellphone users in the past, which meant mobile Internet was a tough. But a new report released by consulting firm A.T. Kearney and the Judge Business School of Cambridge University, suggests that more and more cellphone users get comfortable with using the Internet on a small screen. Read more

Ok i need some HELP please!
I am in seattle and have been using a data cable to dial into my isp to
connect at 19200. I have read how others have been able to use there
mins to connect faster thru verizon. I called and went round and round
with them and was told i had to buy the office kit and then i could use
my mins to connect at 14.4? That i could not use either of the two
higher speed networks using my mins!
I could buy unlimited or metered service, Odd my friends on other
services cingular/tmoblie have much better options. Is there any way to
do what i want to do? I cant use the #777 that i have read about here?
Please help me. Thanks Ron

I used to have this on my account, until 2 weeks ago I couldnt connect and
they reset all my features to fix it. Now I can connect, but at the 14.4 QNC
speeds. I called and spent half a day going around and around, and they all
insist that National Access is on my account, but it is only a free version
for the web on the phone. For tethered data they want me to pay more. So
basically they took away my feature and won't give it back! I'm in TX....any
ideas how to get them to give it back? none of the promo codes seem to mean
anything to them and they all think national access is on the account
anyway.

Ask them to add Get it now capability. (say nothing about NA!) Even if your
phone doesn't support it, tell them you switch ESN's and use others and need
it on the account.

Well, it was worth a try, it is a way for someone that doesn't have it at
all to get it, worked for my partner at work Wonder if it has anything to
do with an older phone? Does your account thing at (phone number)@vzw3g.com
work?

Seems if you are dialing #777, and logging into the vzw3g thing, then it
almost has to be something screwed up at your end (drivers software etc)

If you didn't have the option to do it, you wouldn't be able to log onto the
3g website. Has to be in the settings at your end.

Any chance something reset your drivers or settings (on your computer)?

Not that I am aware of but I guess it is possible. The weird thing is I have
tried it with my T730 and my Nokia 3586i. They both do the same thing. I'm
not using their software, never have..just the data cable and DUN in windows
to setup the dial in.

Seems to me if it is slow no matter what phone you use, that pretty much
says it's the stuff on the computer itself.

Did you change the max connection speed on the standard driver? What about
the setup strings? It defaults to 19.200. Sounds like maybe you are
connecting to the high speed stuff, but your driver limits the max speed. As
for the setup strings, once you send the speeds for low speed (to the phone)
most models will stay in low speed, no matter what, until you send the setup
string for high speed. (then it will stay in high speed no matter what until
you send the strings for low speed!)

I do the same on mine (no extra software), and have DUN set to a max of
19200 for low speed and 230,000 for the Express/NA/1X, and different setup
strings for low or high speed.

Depending on the phone, there are also AT commands sent to the phone (that
stay forever until new strings are sent or a new phone is used), for MY
phone (they are not always the same for all phones), these work...
