Great deal on P3- 800, but can I OC it?

This one is for you Intel fans out there (AMDMeltdown, you listening?)

I got a "steal" on a P3-800/133 with an Intel 815EEAL for only $230 American. Normally, I wouldn't bother with a slow processor like this (in the days of 1.2 GHz, 800 seems slow), but this deal was too good to pass up.

I understand that there is a strong possibility this is an "S" processor (ie, unlocked). Does anyone know if what the practical limit is for OC'ing it?

Thanks

Most P3s can easily get into the 933-950 MHz range. If the proc is unlocked, then you're set. If it is locked however, you probably won't be able to get all the way up there because your bus speed will be very high.

Why do I even try?

Bad deal. Fact of the matter is you will get more speed out of the PIII 700 because of the higher multiplier, at almost $100 less! Never heard of an "unlocked" P3, except for the engineering samples.

Suicide is painless...........
