PSC 2210 timing out in ME

PSC 2210xi is a few years old and it works great for a month or so. All
of a sudden, it stops printing and I get a time out message saying
USB002 timed out. This has done this before and what I did before was
reinstall the software, but that is a hassle. There has to be something
else behind this.

I tried the unplugging printer -> restart PC -> plugging in printer
procedure but got nothing.
