How will Crysis 2 run on my computer?

Core i7 930 @stock speed
6GB DDR3 1333 MHz tri-channel RAM
X2 Radeon HD 5870's in CF (1GB)
MSI Big Bang X58 motherboard
Corsair TX850 850W PSU
X-Fi Fatality Titanium Pro sound card
DVD ROM
Windows 7 HP 64-bit

I can run Crysis and Crysis Warhead on very high/enthusiast at 1920x1080 and get 35-50 fps. I heard that the 2nd Crysis will run more smoothly on computers due to much better coding and optimization. Do you think I can run it on it's max settings like I can Crysis 1?

I don't need 3-way SLI GTX 580's and a 4.0 GHz OC'ed CPU to run Crysis 2 on it's on it's max settings?

The Crysis 2 demo only uses DX9. DX10 and DX11 are highly optimized for multi-GPU setups, meaning it might increase performance in computers with more than one GPU. I believe DX9 is coded only to use a single GPU.

No, you don't need 3 way sli 580. It will run well with your current hardware !

Someone said that it's max settings will be more torturous on PC hardware than the first Crysis.

I can playably max out Crysis and Warhead on my current hardware. It slows down a bit here and there, but otherwise it's very playable.

no...
as for the op your gonna have a problem in that crysis 2 stutters in Xfire and sli
either patch it or run of 1 card only. (you can still max it out on 1 5870 and play smoothly. i did, just finished the campaign last night. 6/10

You may need to disable the crossfire as HEXiT said but you can crank it with even one 5870.

Crysis 2 is a lot less demanding than Crysis and Crysis Warhead.

I am not sure what the current situation with CrossFire or SLI issues (if any) though. See following charts and link as an example:

i dont think those benches are to reliable seeing the the 5870 beats the 6870 in both and the 6870 beats the 5870 in other benches repeatedly. http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/294?vs=292
also there isnt a 6790 out there unless im mistaken

Your link compares the HD 5870 to the HD 6970, not the HD 6870 that you mentioned in your post. Here is a proper link that compares the HD 5870 to the HD 6870.

http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/294?vs=290

As can be seen, the HD 5870 beats the HD 6870 in most benchmarks which is similar to the Techpowerup result.

http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/294?vs=290 looking at this i see the 5870 consistently beating the 6870 when i looked at the link above it was setup for the 6970 so i guess sum1 made a mistake.
i was wondering coz i know the 5870 beats the 6870 pretty much across the board and toms itself has the 6870 rated beneath the 5870

Yes it will run better than the original crysis because it has worse graphics and its made for consoles.

Crysis 1 has infinitely better graphics than Crysis 2.
