Recently my system has been crashing while playing Bad Company 2. Ive had this game on my PC for over a year and it just started acting up.
MB - Gigabyte EP43-US3L
PROC - Intel E5400 OC'd to 4.05ghz
GPU - XFX HD5770 stock
RAM - 2GB DDR2
PSU - SS Strider 600W
-I have no recent hardware or software installation.
-My system has been unchanged for bout a month.
-The problem started 3 days ago. I had the 10.4 ATI drivers(had it since it came out and i never had any problem 'til now.)
-I updated to 11.2, but BC2 still crashes.
-I followed proper GPU driver installation (driver sweeper etc.)
-Only happens while playing BC2 for about 15-20 minutes. I tried playing like Black Ops, COD4, minecraft and AION etc but my system doesn't crash
-Full system crash, freezes the game then the system. I can't alt-tab or ctrl-alt-del
-Temps are normal, CPU and GPU (i checked logs) temps are in celcius
-These are the temps just before my system crashed:
CPU: core1:63, core2:57 cpu load:88.0
GPU: Core Clock:[850.0] , GPU Memory Clock [1200.0] , GPU Temperature [58.0] , Fan Speed [41%] , GPU Load
-I also did a clean install of my Bad Company 2 game.
Is there a software that can tell me what goes wrong on my system? So I can post logs and stuff here
MS Event viewer isn't giving me anything
Can you help me solve my problem please?
Yeah that too was my first assumption, that it was cpu/gpu overheating. The problem I have w/ these crashes is it never happened before. It freezes a frame and sound from my game and my pc stops responding.
Well like I said, the game likes to be unstable and crash.
A quad core CPU would help alot, but it seems to hate overclocked dual and tricore CPU's. So all I can say is, setting your cpu back to stock(which wouldn't help overall framerate) or getting a quad core cpu would help.
That's why I normally play only 1 to 2 rounds and shut the game off, mainly why I don't play anymore.
i been having the same problem since i upgraded.I tried using different settings in CC but no luck. So i decided to try diff set of drivers and finally found the most stable set of drivers which were 10.5a. After installing them i have had no crash so far and all seems stable i did lose a few fps here and there but nothing to worry bout as i can still get steady 60fps.
For the people who are having BSOD problems make sure that you remove any form of OC and try again. hope this helps
