HELP, I'm a college student & I have a paper due... the only question I haven't yet figured out yet is: "How many chips are typically in a chipset?"

Ok.. this stuff is so foreign to me... I'll probably tank on the test, but I'm going to give it a whirl! Can anyone help? Don't reply after 3/8/01, it will be too late. thanks :) Denise

Usually 2 or 3
Northbridge, Southbridge, sometimes other controllers
are added under special circumstances eg. memory translator hubs
and other crap.
Integrated sound/graphics etc. are not considered part of
the chipset
