I have posted about the same thing before. But figured by now i would have the problem solved, but nope. Everytime i go to install and ATI driver 4.7 and higher, my monitor will go into power save mode while i am doing something. And the only way i can wake it up is if i hardboot the whole computer. Is there and solution at all here. Or should i just get rid of ATI all together and go back to nvidia? Even the Omega drivers do the samething.

Have you tried excessivly low resolutions/refresh rates or a different monitor?
Does it do it when you are doing anything? or just in games and other 3d apps?
Did you ever install the catalyst control center? Dont

What video card?

Yeah i have tried a different monitor, with same results. It does it like whenever i am opening windows on the web or working with an app that requires more than one window to be opened. It's a 9600 XT. I don't have the control center, but i have the control panel. I have tried not installing both but i still get the same results. As of now i am still using the 4.6 version. Guess i am stuck with it then.
