no keyboard

I'm trying to scrub the junk out and restore to when my 1 year old system was new. ( too much junk in it) When I try to boot from CD, I get to "enter to install XP" F3 to something I don't remember or escape to exit. I hit enter nothing , F3 Nothing, ect. I do get a keyboard error during the beginning of the install.I used to be good at this stuff, but getting married and work has taken me away from keeping as current as I'd like to be. thanks in advance for your help.

Try a different keyboard.

If its USB try PS2. Also I have a $5 keyboard I bought as a spare that doesn't work outside of windows @#$%$#%. So I can't enter bios setup, use Norton Ghost 2003 etc.

I hava PS2 keyboard, not a USB, that's part of why I'm stumped. Thanks for the try..........

Still try a different keyboard, as suggested by Codesmith. Use either USB or PS/2. It could be that the keyboard you are using is simply defective or even has a key that is stuck (but does not appear to be).
