Sup guys,
I'm looking at the Abit KT7A and the KT7A-Raid. What's the advantage of having that raid feature? I've looked around but no straight forward answer. Thanks guys

Simple:
If you have two HD's in your computer, you can set them up in raid 0, raid 1 or raid 10 formation. Raid makes two HD's act as one. If you set them up in Raid 0 formation (striping) then they will gain a nice performwnce boost. Setting them up in Raid 1 makes them much less likely to corrupt or lose data, and RAID 10 does both.

Also make sure that the hdds are the identical, if not the raid will default to the lesser of the two, loosing possible performance...

NON-RAID BOARD IS MUCH EASIER TO SET UP THAN RAID BOARD. THE RAID CONTROLLER CAN HAVE SERIOUS CONFLICT PROBLEMS WITH VARIOUS OTHER DEVICES. IRQ PROBLEMS TO BE EXACT. BUT, THE POSSIBLE PERFORMANCE BOOST OF THE RAID 0 SETUP IS NOTHING TO SNEEZE AT IF YOU NEED IT.
