hi guys..
What gpu you've and how much fps you're getting atm, what resolution, what settings?
I need some user experience in upgrading my graphic card.

Some questions here:
How many fps I can expect from the following gpus at all maxed-out with and without AA and FA..

nvidia 9500gt
nvidia 9600gt
nvidia 9800gt
nvidia gts250

and

ati hd 4650
ati hd 4670
ati hd 4850
ati hd 4870
ati hd 5770

plz tell me :) of course without sli and crossfire! Thanks for help

Counter Strike Source, isn't much of a GPU demanding game, because almost all the cards ( even low end cards ) can run it maxed out ( low end cards- 1280 X 720- while maxing out )

If you are going for an upgrade, you are better off with the HD 5770.

But you haven't told us your budget, or whether you are just playing this game only.

You should list out your PC specs, the ones you have right now, like-

CPU
Graphics Card (GPU)
PSU
RAM
Motherboard.

I've c2d e4500
ati hd 4650 512mb
400w psu
2gb of ram
and an asus 5kpl-am epu board. :)

How much fps am I suppose to hit?
i've read somewhere that cs source and team fortress 2 both are cpu games which means good cpu good fps.

currently I get 50-60 fps all maxed out at 1024x768 without AA while FA is full @x16.
I think my gpu worth more than that while not too sure about cpu. :(

Please share your experience how much you're getting?

Also, I've seen some benchmarks of 9800gt with core 2 quad and can hit 52.xx fps easily but with AA @max and 1440x900 I think.
While I go with same settings mine can only hit 30-28-32 something... :(

I have a C2D E7500, NVIDIA 8400GS 512 MB and 4 GB RAM, Iball 250 W PSU
I get like 30-50 FPS...at 1280 X 768 res and maxing it out.

I haven't put on the AA or increased the resolution though. I however, didn't like the game though :??:

Personally, I buy games for playing Single Player (SP) and not Multiplayer (MP).
The first MP I played was Crysis 2, and although I got just got 8-12 FPS!!!
I liked the Crysis 2 demo though ( first mp experience for me ).

So... Does that mean if I buy an e7500 (which I've been thinking and planning). I'll get more than that? :)
Also, your gpu is less I guess in terms of performance and money (if I'm correct). Then it means it's your cpu which helps the gpu to hit 30-50 fps which is equal to me.. :D

Do you've any idea how much I can expect from a 9600GT and what do you think the fps I'm getting atm are fine for my pc?
I just wanna make sure that I haven't made any mistake choosing 4650 (which was recommended by 2010's article "best gpu for money under 50bucks".
Also, my psu doesn't had any 6-pin connector maybe that was one of the reason why I chosen 4650 and had gave a thought of buying 4670 as well but that time had short of cash. :( Since I've cash at the moment so reselling the card in warranty should not loss me a lot. :)

Thanks for replies.

yes, my 8400GS is quite bad, bad for gaming that is ,
If you are planning to buy an E7500, don't buy it, just buy a quad core cpu. What is your Motherboard socket ? . If its LGA 775, then its okay and you can upgrade to Core 2 Quad.

Your HD 4650, is good, not for hardcore gaming, but it can play games at low specs or med specs.

The 9600GT will surely get like 60 -100 FPS , if I am not mistaken.

If you are looking for a better GPU, then going for a HD 5770 or a GTS 450 or GTS 250 would help. The GTS 450 and GTS 250 somewhat equals in performance, but GTS 450 has DX11 and GTS 250 only has DX10.1.

What is your budget ?

cpu under 80$
and gpu under 70$ (I don't think I'll upgrade my gpu)
because for hardcore gaming I've already decided I'll buy an i5-2500K with 2x 5770 I'm still confused in choosing motherboard.. :(

atm i've created a thread at "new build" section and there's only one reply out there idk why.. :(

thanks.
