I'd like to purchase the Asus A7V133 motherboard but with a 900MHz Athlon T-Bird CPU - would this combo be compatible?

Yes, the A7V133 will take any socket A Duran or Athlon cpu.
900mhz to 1.2ghz Tbird b or c flavor will work fine.

Life is short, So am I, wanna make something of it?? :)

Since the A7V133 has a 133MHz bus, will this sort of overclock the 900MHz Athlon CPU?
E.g From 9x multiplier X 100MHz bus = 900MHz on the A7V -to- 9x multiplier X 133MHz bus = 1197MHz on the A7V133

Doesn't work that way... It's not because a motherboard can get you FSB to 133 that he can't run it at 100...

It's like having a ford mustang and driving it at 50 miles per hour instead of 100...

It's still works.

What Boumxyz said.

The multiplier is locked at 12.5x, you can't multiply the bus speed by any more than that. So if you get a 'B' Tbird, you're caught at (100mhz)*(12.5)=1250mhz. If you get a 'C' Tbird, you can crank up (133mhz)*(12.5)= 1662.5mhz. Incidentally, I think the 'C' Tbirds start at 1ghz.
The A7V133 supports 166-100mhz bus speeds. 166mhz*12.5= 2075mhz ?

Are you sure?
I actually had that lead pencil thing in mind, but how do you clock it up to 133MHz...with the DIP switches? - I know sounds like a no duh question, but I'm still learning stuff.

As for your question, I've got the ThermoSonic ThermoEngine that is anodized black and possibly upgrade the 5500rpm fan to a 7?00rpm Pabst fan.

Wusy-
You should be careful about giving advice when you don’t know first hand, or at least have a lot of experience. I know you have read this all over the site so you feel that you know what’s up but I am not sure about claiming that every B t-bird will run at @133 mhz. Yes they should but it might require a lot of time and tweaking more so than a newbie would want to do right off the bat anyway. I am not trying to hate on a brother or nothing just saying that should not give newbies a false sense of security that’s all.

You are right it does depend to cooling and the amount you want to mess with you CPU if you want plug n play and 133fsb get a C if you want to save $10 and mess around for 10hrs get a B.

I have a fop32 lapped with AS2 on a t-bird 1gig@1.2@42*c and love it. I highly recommend that HSF so tell everyone to buy it because it's only $20 so it has the best price/performance ratio.
