I'm planning on buying a new motherboard and I heard that an ATA 66 controller will work with an ATA 100 motherboard, is this true? BTW, I'm a newbie to this so I may have said something wrong

"ATA 66 controller will work with an ATA 100 motherboard"

I'm not sure what you mean by that. Do you mean an ATA66 add-in card will work on a ATA100 mb?

But I can Tell You ATA66 Harddrives work on ATA100 Motherboards. and ATA100 Hardrives will work on ATA66 motherboards. But in both cases the drives will work at athe slower speed (i.e. ATA66).

That's what I mean to ask grenade. My old hard drive is ATA 66 and I wanted to make sure it would work with the new motherboard. Thx.
