I use a Nokia 5185 cell phone with Verizon service. Last week I was in
RadioShack (where I got my phone) and they guy there told me that I could
access the Web on my laptop (Sony Vaio) by using my cell phone with a USB
adaptor cable and SnapDial software, using the phone as a wireless modem.
I have tried to research this and my research has left me more confused than
anything. Has anyone out there done this with the Nokia 5185? Is it
possible? I found a downloadable version of Snapdial on the web but it was
version 1.02. Will this work? It seems that the current commercial version
is 4.2 and it doesn't really say that it supports the Nokia 5185. Does
anyone out there know?

The software maker is actually Futuredial, they also make the cable, and
they have a website at http://www.futuredial.com
Depending on your EXACT model (I don't know if it is really a 5185i and you
just left off the letter), but if it is actually a 5185i, it is both
supported by verizon, and Futuredial (the software and cable maker), and
will work just fine with the Vaio.

Will I need to change my service with Verizion or will the basic cell phone
service that I have allow me to use the phone as a modem?
