Well Here it is, the worlds most expensive and rediculously fast production car, Beating the previous record holder by a handsome margin (The McLaren F1)

<A HREF="http://www.vwvortex.com/news/09_01/bugatti/index.shtml" target="_new">This is what it looks like</A>. For style though, I think a decent Ferrari or an Aston martin DB7 beats it. The front just ruins it. Hehe, a cool looking car is the Vector M12.

Definitly not worth that much if that's what it looks like. (not the front thing, but the entire car's length and form)
I like that Mercedes Maybach at 450000$ though, definitly nice inside.

Hmm only 1000 horsepower for that... Seems pretty weak for a quad turbo 16-cylinder. Hell, you can get a twin turbo 3.0 liter straight-6 Toyota Supra to 600-700 horsepower without nitrous on 100-octane gas, and that'll only cost you $40,000. Also, the really big block chevy/dodge/ford V8's (550+ cubic inches) come in at the 600-700 horsepower range naturally aspirated. I think that's the coolest looking car ever though. 7-speeds is also mighty nice. I'd buy that for a dollar.

You can get a small block Chevy 2/3 it's size to 1000HP with two turbos, and that's an old cam in block, 2-valve design from the 1950's!

i kinda like the design... kinda a throwback to the styling of older cars. Some other sports car design was much like that. Think it featured in Need for Speed 2.

nd 406km/h is nothing to scoff at.
Im sure they could squeeze more power out of it, but would have size constraints.

Remember, it's not always about the horsepower, but about the top speed. As much as I love supras, a 1000hp Supra CANNOT reach such a high top speed. I mean, 406 km/h, all I have to say is WOW! BTW, the car's being hand-made by Bugatti, together with Audi. I heard a few Italian engineers are also part of the project. The styling is nice, and the back reminds me of a ferrari. The car is meant to commemorate a 70 year old, famous bugatti race car, I forget which one though.

FYI, it's 1001 horsepower because Audi wanted to make it a nice number, hehe. Plus, the torque on this baby makes the new Viper's torque look miniscule.

Also, the 4 turbos were installed to give that super-high torque.

In short, this car is a fusion of high quality German, Italian, and British engineering.

EXACTLY. look at the torque baby!!! 1250Nm from as little as 2200rpm. Now that is grunt! The only thing that comes close is the maybach with 900Nm.

Very good point. Speaking of fast cars I just got Need For Speed Hot Pursuit 2. Absolutely incredible game with a lot of very fast cars, go figure.
