Is there a P III A? Because I have an 6VIA85P mainboard and I recieved an response as it is only upgradable to an PIIIA ?

I've never heard of a P3A.

It's probably refering to the 133mhz FSB P3's- unless your board already supports them..

Yeah, that would make sense (just never heard of a P3A)!

thor, it must be the P3 E/EB "Coppermine" CPU (32KB L1 cache and 256KB of L2 clocked at core frequency) running at a 100/133Mhz system bus. The 'EB' is the same as the 'E' series except for the higher system bus.

The "A" might refer to the old Katmai core PIII which was only available from 450 to 600MHz, and had a higher voltage and off-die cache.
