Crysis 1 running at over 60fps, yet looks very jolty on monitor

Hey guys,

My specs are:

P8P67 Deluxe
i5 2500k with no OC
Asus DirectCU II GTX 570
8GB (2x4GB) g.skill RAM
Corsair HX650 PSU
1TB WD Caviar black
Samsung SH-S223C

I'm running Crysis 1 at 1920x1080 and with settings on very high I get about 40 fps, and on high, I get 60fps. Yet on screen, the game looks jolty. The walk animation isn't smooth etc.

Any ideas what could be causing this?

I should note that this lack of smoothness is still present when running at minimum settings in 800x600.

Resource hogging back ground tasks ?
Go into task manager and turn off all tasks, before you start gaming.

try vsync settings and tripple buffering.
you may also want to adjust the render ahead limit from 3 to 2 if it gets worse try 3 to 4
