I am going to buy a Athlon 1.33GHz (TBird) Socket- A (266Mhz FSB) - OEM and want to know what mainboard is best. I've seen the guide here but it's really not to clear to me, especially since it was two weeks ago when it was written.

BTW - I am going to use DDR.

I just bought a 1.2 Ghz 266 FSB. I had trouble deciding between the two boards too. It came down to the IWill KK266 or the Asus A7V133. I went with the Asus A7V133 as it's known for reliability and they were at the same price. Well, that's becuase I was using SDRAM. If you want DDR Ram, you will have to look at other boards.

It's better to be pissed off than pissed on :)

I'd recommend the FIC AD11. It's been out for a little while now and it's proven to be very stable.

I have mine with a 1.2ghz 266FSB Retail athlon, FOP32 heatsink/fan w/no paste, and Mushkin PC2100 DDR. I have the FSB O/C'd in the Bios to 144 and Geforce2 GTS Pro OC'd to 220/440. So far games never freeze up. Default 1024x768x32 3DMark2001 puts it at 3997. It could be pushed higher, but that's respectible.

did you have to open your L1 bridges on your cpu to o/c or was the chip shipped to you already open. and i'd buy an a7m266 from asus, its the best performer.

I bought it retail, so no, the chip didn't come with the mod and I didn't unlock it. O/C'ing the Ram, FSB, and videocard via software gives enough performance boost.
