I checked out www.componentsdirect.com and was told to my surprise that this MB had been discontinued due to a problem with AMD's chipset and the 4 dimm slots. I also read a review after that (can't remember the site) that confirmed this. I wanted this MB based on THG's "Power Box" article.
I thought THIS site had all the answers.

What DDR MB's have 4 dimm slots that run the Athlon 1.33?

TIA

Well, with what I reported last month, no one should be suprised about anything MSI does with the "K7 Master" series. It's been pulled from some sites that actually listed it and I presume MSI has indeed dropped it, or modified the board to use a VIA/AMD combo like other DDR boards.

No board has 4 DDR DIMM slots yet.

None of the DDR boards have 4 DIMM slots. The MSI K7266 Pro has three and it's been rated highly -- even vs. the K7 Master S. See, e.g., http:// http://www.chip-online.com/product [...] _1907.html Of course, you'll need a PCI SCSI card if you go that route as that board does not have it onboard.

Ain't this fun!
Edited by Jablumen on 04/06/01 00:55 AM.
