Only 4 Mobos compatible with AMD 1.33?!?!

I was just looking at AMD's website and they only list 4 motherboards when I checked recommended motherboards for the AMD 1.33GHz. Anyone have any idea why?

I was considering buying a 1.2GHz (266FSB) and an ASUS A7V133 mobo until I found out a local store was selling the 1.33s for less than the 1.2s. Go figure. Will an A7V133 still be compatible? Why would AMD not list it?

Thanks in advance.

I believe the Asus A7M266 can run the 1.33GHz CPU. I hope so - both are due at my front door Tuesday! AMD should update their site soon.

from what I have noticed amd is prety slow to update those lists and are very conservative so take that list with a grain of salt if you know what I mean.

just be sure to ask the maker of the mobo if it can run it, most will with an updated bios.

As far as I know, the A7V133 with BIOS version 1004 is fully compatible with the Athlon class "C" 266 FSB CPU's, and type "B" 200 FSB CPU's.

I should know because lately I have been running a 266 FSB, 1.33 T-bird for about 3 weeks now, with NO problems whatsoever, including a stable overclocking of 149 FSB on Win_98 -- which pushes the clockspeed to 1488 Mhz.

In fact, the A7V133 and other VIA compatible chipsets should be able to run Athlon "C" type CPU's up to 1666 Mhz, at least in theory.
