Does anyone know if there is a an alternative wireless adapter other than the one Microsoft sells? I have an XBOX 360 with the older wirless G adapter that seems to be going out. I have to turn on the XBOX, unplug the wireless adapter and the replug it in for it to get a signal or for the light on the adapter to come on.

Before forking out a whopping amount of money to Micro$oft I was wondering if any other wireless adapter would work?

Here are a few I found at Amazon.com by manufacturers other than M$.

http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-360-PS3-Wireless-Playstation...

http://www.amazon.com/TRENDnet-Wireless-Gaming-Adapter-...

http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-360-Wireless-Network-Adapter...

I hope that helps!

You basically have to hope a 3rd party one doesn't fail on you or pay Microsoft an arm and a leg. A wired connection is recommended if you are serious about online play, though I know this is not always possible.

Be thorough in your search for 3rd party accessories on Amazon, there are a lot of really bad knock offs. I have found a lot of really terrible products when looking for a new power supply.

you can hop on amazon.com and snag one of the dual band a,b,g & n band adapters pretty cheap. theyre discontinuing them now because now that the new 360's have built in adapters the externals are obsolete to them. i upgraded from the single to the dual and there is a pretty big difference. got the adapter and a year live card for $110 shipped so that wasnt too bad. lately though ive been having tons of trouble out of my wireless so honestly the best and most dependable way to go is cord it. cord is king. too bad bill gates is the most money hungry person on the planet otherwise we would be able to play on live free just like ps3 owners get to with their consoles. so yeah....either grab the dual band adapter or cord it.
