I recently purchased a new power supply (included with a case I bought). Its a 350 watt power supply, not sure what make/model. However, when I hook it up to my ECS K7S5A mobo with my XP 1800+ it goes nutty. The voltages go all crazy in bios hardware monitor, my built in lan dissapears, and my computer wont boot into winxp because it says my bios isnt ACPI compatible. However, when I put my old power supply back in (230Watt) it works fine. Im at a complete loss as to what the problem is, please help!!

Ok, this isn't so hard to figure out-you got yourself a brand new piece of trash power supply.

Congradulations... you purchaced a lovely big 350W GENERIC PSU...
Generic in this case meaning a shoddy, crap Piece Of Sewage

Unfortunately it happens all too often. Cutting corners by fitting a crap PSU seems to be the norm.

What i reccommend is:
A. Remove that 350W psu.
B. Go buy a PROPER 350W or greater PSU manufactured by antec, enermax or toptower.
C. Destroy that 350W POS u currently have.
