Haven't been around much lately. Been postin at http://www.rcgroups.com. Always wanted to fly ever since I was a kid and now I am. For about $90 us you can by a really easy to fly plane called the Firebird2. The thing comes completely put together and comes with everything except transmitter batteries (8aa). All you do (besides learn to fly) is charge up the included battery with the included charger, strap the main wing on with 4 rubberbands, install the batteries, and you are ready to fly!! The included 280 speed motor will buzz the plane around the sky for better than 15 mins before needing a recharge. The v tail protects the control surfaces because the main wing will hit the ground before the tail will. The thing even comes with a spare main wing. Being only a 2 channel the Firebird2 is super easy to fly. To go up you gas it, to come down you let off. Left is left and right is right (as long as the plane is heading away). Landing is normally the hardest part of flying but with a fb2 all you gotta do is let go of the controls and it will float down (so long as you have enough room). Of course from a decent flying altitude the thing will glide 300meters, so a big field is needed (that or some skill).

Disclaimer: When I say easy, I mean easy for an adult that reads the instructions, watches the included video, and takes the time to learn to adjust and launch it properly. If you are an uncordinated, impatient kid who only has $90 to your name please do not buy one of these planes as your $90 will be worthless in 5 minutes flat.

Flying is fun! I find it amazing that a cheap battery powered plane can fly as well and as long as this one can. BTW there are plenty of other good planes besides the one I mentioned. They got all kinds of em including 3 channel models that have better up/down ability and 4 channels with wing flap that roll the plane and let you fly upside down if you like. They have super fast (90mph dive) electrics or super slow indoor/slow flyers that fly at a little more then walking speed. The slow planes are really amazing to watch. It is hard to believe anything going that slow could get enough lift to fly. Of course gas planes are also available but some how they are far less facinating to me.

I've bought 5 planes so far. I broke the first in half before it ever got 10ft off the ground (first planes tend to take a beating). My second plane was the FB2 and it is finally starting to get boring cause it will not do tricks. The FighterBird is a really cool plane similar to the fb2 but bigger/faster and it has this super cool fighting module that lets you shoot down other FighterBirds. Getting shot kills your motor for 10 seconds. I lost my FighterBird altogether by flying at night and loosing track of the plane. I'm chicken to fly my newest plane cause it goes like 55mph. It the weather holds up and I get the balls it will fly Sunday. Wish me luck!

Give me fuel, give me fire, give me that which I desire.

Complicated proofs are proofs of confusion.

I know what you mean about flying RC gliders. My dad has been into RC gliders and planes for quite a few years and I always find that the gliders are much more fun to fly.

My dad like putting them together so he buys the kit and has as much fun building and fixing the planes as he does flying them.

They are a bit more expensive that what you are using right now, but then he's been doing it for awhile.

Well now you do. Though I think all people have a father of one kind or another as up till a couple of years ago you needed a man and a woman in the same room having sex to have a kid. Believe it or not that's where you can from!
