b/c of "mr. potatoe head" posts. I would have posted this in that thread but it would have just bumped it. This is the last thing I'll say about childish threads.

It's always darkest just before it goes pitch black.

Fredi is close to creating a mod environment, when he'll finish the hardware repairs and optimizations for the forum servers, then he'll take nominations for mods.
You will bet your ass if I am mod, topics such as potatoe head's will go for the bin.

Wow, it took a long time for Fredi to get this mod thing up. I'm glad we're gonna get them, but it's taking sooo long!

...And all the King's horses and all the King's men couldn't put my computer back together again...

Reply to Chuck232

Since I contacted David Stellmack, a week after Fredi began fixing the servers. So it's not THAT long, but he is fixing many things to make this place better, so it seems long.

I feel that the pages load up faster now, so at least something seems to be happening.

I say mods be long time users, such as having a minimum of 2 years here, or a minimum of 15,000 post...

You're posting in a forum with class. It may be third class, but it's still class!

Then in that case it's more likely to be unanimous!

I contacted Fredi about it, he got it deleted, and moved this one, though it's kind of useless to do so, since this topic was about the CPU forum's situation!

i don't think post counts should count towards mod status- Some people have a TON of useless posts- remember WUSY? Anyway- I'm all for the two year thing and some post count minimum maybe- but deffnitly shouldn't be the decision maker.

My Jesus is whiter than your Jesus.

Reply to jg38141

I don't think it should be limited to two years. There are some newer members that care more than older ones. I think the decision should be put up to Fredi I mean we could all vote on mods, but wouldn't it be a popularity contest then?

Yeah? Well if my Aunt had balls she'd be my Uncle.

What was going on in the potato head thread? I was gone.

If you have extra parts left over, that means you put it together right!

Reply to buddry

Actually I was joking. And I don't think post in the "Other" forums should count toward postcount anyway because they rarely contain any technical information relavent to a hardware community.

Postcounts are postcounts. I don't think it matters if you post in the others or the cpu forum. either way they get inflated by non-technical post so it doesn't really matter.

It matters a lot.
For someone who has like 1000 posts but who has been aiding in and participating the CPU forum, the person definitly knows how to control the place, he/she knows WHO is bad, when to stop something which might turn into a flamewar. If we placed someone here who never touched the CPU forum, never heard of Meltdown, spud or Fugger, chances are it'll be harder to know WHEN to intervene.
I would definitly be good for the CPU forum, so as Matisaro, and regular posters. (though Mat's been away for a while, wonder where he is now)

For those who wanted to know what was in that thread, it started with someone claiming Spud is a moron, and throws insults, then spud comes in, they both go at it. I butt in telling them it's posts like these that call for mods. The topic maker insults me, and later on spud starts discriminating comments like the reason I whine is because I am in Quebec and french people in Quebec whine. It was utterly digusting how the guy was filled with stereotypical and discriminating ideas. Finally I opted to get out of the conversation, PMed Fredi and bling, it was gone.

lol.. hehe.. quebecer's are whiners... lol.. sorry

I used to frequent the CPU and Motherboard section. I know those guys. Spuddy's not bad. You just have to get to know him. Meltdown and fugger aren't that bad either. You have to let a lot of what they say go. I'd prolly make a good mod, but don't want to be one. I like this place cause it's fun and relaxing. Being a mod and it'd seem more like a job.

Reply to Yahiko81

Sorry to say but you'd make a rather horrible mod, you let go of anything, you're a care-free person man, but not everyone is like that, which is why my more objective view on people's actions, combined with what the majority thinks, would make me a good mod.

BTW I wouldn't delete anything Meltdown posts, however any person who knows him well, knows he has said things in the past which have been harmful.

Actually I don't let go of anything. I am a pretty care-free person and that's why I would make a good mod. I don't take things seriously and i'm pretty good at telling when people are joking and when they want to rile others. I would delete meltdown's posts. Not all of them but some. He can post some pretty mean stuff. So can other people. You just have to know what to delete and what to tell the person to delete themselves. Being a mod is changing what people say or do. It's getting them to change it on their own, and if they won't with a little persuasion.

From how I see it, you are care-free in a way that you always have a don't care attitude, never fussy, which is why I said this. Especially how you act here compared to me.

Would you mind explaining what you mean by don't care attitude? Or even fussy?

Reply to Yahiko81

Woops, fixed what I said.
It's the attitude when there's a problem, like when I had one, and you had the attitude that's often like "stop caring about it". Care-free and careless are different indeed, so the way you act is getting me mixed a lot with a person who cares less, even though you probably are not.

I just have the mindset of "Why worry? Worrying does nothing but cause ulcers."

I have to drive home now but I'll continue discussing this with you later. :)

Reply to Yahiko81

Yes, that is a good way to think, however you have it in a more extreme way. I could name many but I don't feel like extending this conversation into useless territories. I just assumed that with your attitude, it'd be harder to stop the people since you often would just forget the problem. Sometimes you gotta be strict, and that's where I wanna go for, when it becomes bad, (a situation in the forum)rather than just warn.

Basically I'd just do like Fredi does, except people know there is someone doing this, not a ghost!

I bet you are one of those kids that always rats out the other kids for doin funny things like change'n locks for other kids lockers, or unpluggin all the keyboards from the computer lab. You need to learn to take a joke and to learn to make a joke.

Hehe french people whine haha qui qui qui wood u like sum chees wit yur whine qui qui qui. Your funny Eden your real funny guy maybe I got all you frenchmen wrong.
