Hello,

I'm looking to replace my LG VX4400, and am hoping to get some
first-hand recommendations. I'm happy with the VX4400 except for its
ringer volume -- even the low setting is so loud that when it rings
inside my cube, everyone within 500 feet can hear it. I originally
bought it because I used to store my phone in my pocket all the time
so a loud ringer was important, but now that I'm past that stage the
lack of a true "low ring" setting on this one is annoying myself and
no doubt some co-workers.

So I'm looking for something with a quieter setting (but with the
ability to ring loud as well), but otherwise pretty much like the
VX4400 -- fairly small, color screen, no fancy features, etc.

Any advice will be welcome.

Thanks,
James

How about just using the vibrate setting on your phone which was built in
for such conditions? On your phone it is totally trivial to toggle between
manner mode and the ringer of your choice.

The LG 6100, due out in mass in a couple of weeks, is reported to be
like the 4400, only better. Better screen, small and trimode as well.
Might be worth a look. The only worrisome change is a fixed stub
antenna, which on every other Verizon phone tends to reduce the fringe
signal performance.
